Communication for Development Foundation Uganda (CDFU) received FaridahLuyigaMwanje, a MakSPH-CDC HIV/AIDS fellow, on August 8th 2011. CDFU in collaboration with the Makerere University School of Public Health (MakSPH) will provide mentorship support for the fellow through capacity building in maternal and child health, HIV/AIDS and leadership and management for a period of two years.

Working at Communication for Development Foundation Uganda (CDFU) as a volunteer is one the best things that has happened to me. The only words that can explain my experience at CDFU are; working with friendly people who are always ready to guide you and yet focus on professionalism. Who wouldn’t want to work in such a place?

After listening to so many stories of fresh graduates who join the field of work and are managed by a boss that has no time to guide and nurture young talent, I thought all interns face the same challenge. However, it’s a different story for the young men and women who have been placed at CDFU.
The MUSPH CDC HIV/AIDS Mentorship Experience at CDFU
Before I joined the Fellowship program, I was a victim of “I think I cannot manage this …” attitude. Thanks to the fellowship experience which has re-framed this.
